    Characteristic length of a Holographic Superconductor with dd-wave gap

    After the discovery of the ss-wave and pp-wave holographic superconductors, holographic models of dd-wave superconductor have also been constructed recently. We study analytically the perturbation of the dual gravity theory to calculate the superconducting coherence length ξ\xi of the dd-wave holographic superconductor near the superconducting phase transition point. The superconducting coherence length ξ\xi divergents as (1T/Tc)1/2(1-T/T_c)^{-1/2} near the critical temperature TcT_c. We also obtain the magnetic penetration depth λ(TcT)1/2\lambda\propto(T_c-T)^{-1/2} by adding a small external homogeneous magnetic field. The results agree with the ss-wave and pp-wave models, which are also the same as the Ginzburg-Landau theory.Comment: last version, 10 pages, accepted by PR

    Radio Polarization of BL Lacertae objects

    In this paper, using the database of the university of Michigan Radio Astronomy Observatory (UMRAO) at three (4.8 GHz, 8 GHZ, and 14.5 GHz) radio frequencies, we studied the polarization properties for 47 BL Lacertae objects(38 radio selected BL Lacertae objects, 7 X-ray selected BL Lacertae, and two inter-middle objects (Mkn 421 and Mkn 501), and found that (1) The polarizations at higher radio frequency is higher than those at lower frequency, (2) The variability of polarization at higher radio frequency is higher than those at lower frequency, (3) The polarization is correlated with the radio spectral index, and (4) The polarization is correlated with core-dominance parameter for those objects with known core-dominance parameters suggesting that the relativistic beaming could explain the polarization characteristic of BL Lacs.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figures, 1 table.     Doppler-Enabled Single-Antenna Localization and Mapping Without Synchronization

    Radio localization is a key enabler for joint communication and sensing in the fifth/sixth generation (5G/6G) communication systems. With the help of multipath components (MPCs), localization and mapping tasks can be done with a single base station (BS) and single unsynchronized user equipment (UE) if both of them are equipped with an antenna array. However, the antenna array at the UE side increases the hardware and computational cost, preventing localization functionality. In this work, we show that with Doppler estimation and MPCs, localization and mapping tasks can be performed even with a singleantenna mobile UE. Furthermore, we show that the localization and mapping performance will improve and then saturate at a certain level with an increased UE speed. Both theoretical Cram\ub4er-Rao bound analysis and simulation results show the potential of localization under mobility and the effectiveness of the proposed localization algorithm
